Promise to Pause

Sunday 11 November 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice which led to the end of the First World War.

The Queensland Government is calling on all Queenslanders to make a promise to pause for one minute this Remembrance Day.

At 11 am on Sunday 11 November, stop for one minute of silence to honour those who sacrificed their todays for our tomorrow and commemorate the centenary of Armistice. The minute of silence is a simple yet powerful action that, since its inception in 1919, has been solemnly observed each Remembrance Day in honour of all fallen servicemen and women.
