This morning, I met with teachers, parents and kids from St John’s Lutheran School from Kingaroy as they headed out for a day of fun to the Great Barrier Reef. They are just some of the beneficiaries of the Miles Government’s $4 million dollar Reef Education Program.
This fund provides subsidies for Reef trips to schools across Queensland wanting to learn about the amazing organisms that make up our Great Barrier Reef, to appreciate the importance of conservation and also to learn about the vast array of career opportunities available.
This program is also an import source of business for our reef operators.
